For a shipping company, we prepared a detailed lifting drawing including a crane load chart in order to plan the loading operation of heavy cargo at a site not equipped for such operations.
The insurance company required an exact representation of the procedure, as the loading site had no structural port equipment.
The need for this drawing arose from the dimensions and weight of the cargo as well as the site conditions along the access route to a suitable berth for a vessel. Without this precise planning, safe and approvable loading would not have been possible.
The drawing contains all relevant technical parameters:
- Crane positions (Outreach, Slew, Set Down)
- Lifting Points and load distribution
- Safety calculations (e.g. maximum permissible loads, wind forces, track widths
Only after this complete planning documentation had been submitted could the loading operation commence. The documentation enabled the insurance company to assess and approve the feasibility and safety of the operation.
